Board of Stewards
The Board of Stewards is dedicated to the support and advancement of the vision and mission of Namaste Yoga Center.On Saturday, August 4, 2007, Namaste Yoga Center held a retreat where its newly named Board of Stewards met for the first time. A second meeting of the Stewards was conducted on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Yoga Center. The Board discussed priorities for the new year, student recruitment and retention, and ways to advance the Vision and Mission. Follow-up meetings will be held in May and September, 2008.

Mary Addison-Lamb, M.A.
Integrative Yoga Therapist
Mary has been practicing
Yoga for over 20 years while being a student, administrator and teacher
in higher education. In 1989 she started teaching Yoga and opened Namaste in 1991. In 1995 she became an Integrative Yoga Therapist. She
was Director until 2002 when she returned to the University of Illinois at
Springfield to teach full time in the Liberal Studies Online Program. She continues
to do private Yoga therapy, teaches the Adapted Class, Foundation Class, Foundation
II, III and IV and leads the Living Presence group. She remains involved
in curriculum planning and teacher training.
Director Nancy Long
Nancy has been practicing Yoga for over 30 years and teaching since
1995. She is certified by the Himalayan International Institute of Yoga Science
and Philosophy. Nancy has been an elementary school teacher, a middle school
teacher, an assistant principal, and has recently retired from the Illinois State Board
of Education. In 2002 she became Namaste’s Director. She teaches Yoga
for Teens, Foundation Classes, Gentle and Moderate Yoga Classes, Foundation
II and III as well as directing the Teacher Training program.
Teacher Kristal Perry-Guitierrez
Kristal has been practicing Yoga since 1995 and completed Namaste's teacher training in 1997. She developed the Namaste pregnancy class and was certified as a YogaKids® teacher in 1999. She occasionally teaches Namaste's Foundation classes. She works full time as a psychotherapist.Secretary Joann Svetlik
Joann has been practicing Yoga since 1989. She is retired but has worked as
the part-time registrar and record keeper at Namaste since 1993.
